August 2026

August 2026

Hey hey!! Another month down and wow was it jammed packed! My statement for the year is to be where my feet are. I think I should have made my word for the year pivot. I guess they kind of go hand in hand. I am accepting that going with the flow of life is truly the way to go. It really is less stressful. If something is not happening or falling into place easily, I pivot. On the opposite side, when a door opens and things happen sooner than I thought, I also pivot and step into that as well. I am just riding the waves of life over here and trying my best. Some days I nail it and other days are a total miss.

At the end of the day, what is for me cannot and will not ever miss me. Ever.

Friend, it won’t miss you either. Promise.

Well at least, that is what I believe to my bones.

I have learned that two things can exist at the same time. In most cases, one emotion usually follows the other. In my case a lot of times, the first emotion is worry or fear which is then followed by unwavering faith and trust.

There are days when I get in my head about life. You know it’s just all the things that someone in their 30’s living a life they thought would look totally different stresses about and overthinks. [yay.] So what do I do? I have to intentionally check myself and remind myself what it means to have unwavering faith. It’s a pivot. It’s a change of perspective. It’s grace and growth wrapped in one moment with polar opposite feelings. Again, some days I nail it and other days are a total miss.

Grace is being given in excess around here.

Something I was super convicted about in August was to speak life into everything. EVERYTHING. Yes, even when someone pisses me off. Our words have power. I just need to figure out how to do a better job speaking life into myself when I have tough days. You too? Glad we are in this together.

Every day is filled with prayers on prayers on prayers. Victory prayers are a daily norm around here.

My sweet mama turned 65 in August. Gosh, she is precious. I love my mama – forever and always! She is quite literally my world and my best friend. I would be lost without her. She is the most helpful, kind, giving, loving and supportive person on the planet. I really am blessed with the absolute best.

Something new I started in August was a monthly ‘Anything can happen list’. Basically, you just list 10 things on the first of the month that are big dreams or crazy things that could happen. Whether they happen or not, we put it out there and let the universe do it’s thing. Anything can happen, right??

I am a dreamer and love Pinterest.

I have been a Cabi girl for a very long time. Saying I love their clothes is an understatement. They are classic, timeless, great quality and effortlessly chic. The new fall line is out and oh my gosh it is cahhuttee!!!

I spent a long weekend in Seattle with Ragan. The time we spend together is never long enough and I just love her. We had the best time! She is such a beautiful and kind soul. I absolutely cherish our friendship. It is priceless to me and I am so grateful for a friend like her. She taught me how to crochet, we shopped, hiked, relaxed and ate really good food. I had one of the best meals of my life when I was there. If you are ever in West Seattle, you need to add Driftwood to your itinerary. Wow. So freaking good.

Pivoting off food and on to the personal training session I did in August. I recently joined a gym and they offered a free personal training session. I don’t normally do stuff like that, but I thought why not? I will at least get a good workout. We did a body scan and ya girl is optimal in all areas! The trainer put me through a little workout. He had me do around the world frog jumps. I learned that I do not have power when I jump backwards and that is just not okay with me. It was interesting and it is now something I added to the conditioning part of my boxing workouts. Give me a couple of months! Ha!

My faith is strong in almost every area of my life that God’s got me. I don’t have to stress. I just know without a shadow of a doubt he’s got it. Truly unwavering faith. Now friend, don’t skip over the almost in that first sentence and stay with me.

The area of my life where my faith is not as strong is in my future life when it comes to marriage and kids. It’s not that I don’t have faith in his ability to do everything and anything. The last couple of years my heart feels like maybe he doesn’t have a seat at that table for me anymore. It’s hard. It’s heavy. The grief of that is a lot some days.

I find myself stuck in this odd spot where I am grieving my dreams and also know his plans for my life are ALWAYS better than I could ever imagine. I just need to be patient and trust. The waiting is uncomfortable.

You know, I always dreamed of being a wife and a mom. I so badly want my own little family unit.

Lord knows I thought I would be living that life by now.

Friend, in a weird way, I am so grateful I am not.

My heart is currently being transformed, healed, molded and shaped. God’s hand is absolutely in my life and wow is he doing a number on me in the best way.

No matter how much my heart grieves some days, one thing that doesn’t change is my trust in Jesus and the abundance he has planned for my life. I would not have particularly picked the steps I am walking now, but Lord knows I am walking them full of grace, trust and faith.

The plan each day: Eyes on Jesus and following his direction.

Everything happens in divine timing. Not one second early and not one second late.

He’s got me and, friend, he’s got you too.

No matter what happens… he will equip and guide us… you and I will be okay no matter what happens or which direction our life goes. We can enjoy the ride together!

So to sum August up, I am trying my best every day to be where my feet are and to fully trust his direction for my life. I truly believe each person in my life and every single day is a gift from above. I choose to live with a grateful heart and to love deeply no matter what.

Last thing, when you can, always choose kindness. It really is the best.

Until next time,

Amanda
